John Novick

John Robert Novick, 50, of Lower Burrell, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, as a result of an industrial accident at Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp.'s Brackenridge Works. He was born in New Kensington, Sept. 18, 1954, and had been a life resident of the local area. A steelworker, he worked on the railroad at Allegheny Ludlum for the past eight years. He was previously employed at Liberty Mirror in Brackenridge. Mr. Novick was a member of Telestai Church, Plum Borough, the Pioneer Hose Firemen's Club and Pine Creek Sportsmen Association in Oil City. He graduated from Burrell High School, Class of 1972. He studied at Robert Morris University, received his bachelor degree from Penn State University, and a master's in business administration in marketing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He was currently enrolled in the Dale Carnegie course. He enjoyed trout fishing, computer programming, music, movies, CD's and home improvements. He is survived by a daughter, Danielle Renee Novick, of Alexandria, Va.; his father and stepmother, John L. (Rose) Novick, of Arnold; his mother, Delores J. "Dee" Brick Novick, of Lower Burrell; a sister, Darlene Breen, of Brighton, Colo.; a brother, Greg (Yarrok) Novick, of Kiskimentas Township; his fiancee, Mary Hoke Biltz, of Lower Burrell, and her children, Jessie, Cassie and Jason Biltz; a nephew, Gregory Novick; a niece, Sonya Kara Novick; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
